Prelude to the dream

Postby Bubstr » Tue Sep 08, 2009 10:12 pm

This is the charity race that was rained out this spring. NASCAR drivers and Cruis Petrigon too. Here is a link to see it free. 8:00 est wed 9th. It was a pretty good race for the past seasons. It seemed like they put on a show and a race broke out.

Jake is spending the weekend up there for all the races. I don't know if he got in for the prelude though.

I got back on after I posted & watched the rest. Damn good race. Some of those asphalters did really alot better than I thought. That place is definitely unique as a track. If your right rear isn't literally up on the wall, you ain't going fast!! I used to go to the Dream every year for alot of years, but it's been a few.

I've been to the World 100 several times in the 70s and 80s. I'd like to go just one more time lol. My Brothers grandson is there with Jay Johnson. They evaded the non Qualifiers race but have a very hard time ahead tonight to get a spot in the feature. He says watch Berkoffer and McCreedie, if it don't rain today or tomorrow. They are bad fast on a slick track. The only place the racing gets any better is at Knoxville Iowa.

Are you talking about Bob McCreedie or his son? I used to watch Bob and others race at Fonda Speedway in NY when I was a teenager.

That is Tim Barefoot Bob Mcreedie's son. I bet Jake had a good time at Eldora. There is an excitement there, and lot's of beer lol
Used to race against Berkoffers Dad. I bet Dave is proud of his son's accomplishments. Brian Berkoffer got his big break when he went racing with Billy Moyer for a year. Billy taught him a lot. The things I like about Brian, is He is a clean driver and no one enjoys any win, big or small more than him. I swear his cheeks have to hurt as much as he grins.

No Steve, I haven't touched it. Have really no desire for it anymore. Too many things about the way things are run just pizzes me off to no end. I think the whole operation is going up for sale real soon.

Things overall. I just can't stomach the way things have become in this sport. It's just not any fun playing their game and giving away my money.

Well Jake made it back. He is one wore out puppy O:)He said it was a blast. They stayed in with the campers. It was a party from day one up there. They met a couple that got married last Saturday then went to the race last Sunday and left today. \:D/\:D/\:D/He stopped by McCreedie's Pit and they talked for a while about racers in NY and of course bought their shirt. It's pretty cool too.. My cousin races IMCA Modifies. He did make it to the prelude and was in the middle of turn 1&2.
