Insurance company I had my Medigap policy with went out of business last year and that policy was terminated on June 30, 2017. Bought a policy to replace it through Cigna, which is a Medigap F policy which was $139.82 a month.

So fast forward to April 17, 2018 and I get a letter in the mail notifying me that my insurance premium was going up to $173.62, which is a 25% increase??? Did you get that? A 25% INCREASE IN THE MONTHLY PREMIUM PAYMENT!!!

Since I received that notice I've sent Eileen Dillon, who is the person I purchased this policy from, TWO Emails asking for the reason for that much of an increase in only ONE year. To date I haven't received a reply from ANYONE at Cigna Insurance.

FYI, My Wife has a policy with Cigna also and she too got a letter notifying her of a monthly premium increase, BUT, the increase in HER policy is only 10%...........NOT 25% LIKE MINE?? Needless to say, this was a WTF moment for sure!!

Talked to a local insurance agent back in June and he basically told me I was screwed because there's no way to move to another company if I cancel this policy with Cigna!!!! Yup, a WTF moment for sure cuz if these rates keep going up 25% every year, I'm going to have to do a reverse mortgage just to pay this insurance!!

Oh the joys of Medicare, you know, that "free" government provided health insurance??? NOT.... between Medicare, Cigna Part B and Humana part D I'm paying out over $365 for medical insurance???

Well, here I am yet again with another 18% increase in one year in my Medicare Part B Supplement insurance from Cigna?? This time it's going from $173 to over $200 PER MONTH!!!?? These people must think I have money or something.

Amazing that the Medicare part of this Part B that's paid directly out of my Social Security check only costs me $139 a month and it covers 80% of any covered Part B services rendered. That Part B Supplement that I get from Cigna only covers the 20% that the regular Part B doesn't cover and it's over $200 a month?? Go figure?

So in review, Medicare Part B covers 80% of covered charges for $139 a month and Cigna Part B Supplement only covers the other 20% of covered charges and they charge me over $200 a month?? Go figure...............AGAIN!

Like I said before... CIGNA INSURANCE IS A RIPOFF and if I didn't own a house, I wouldn't even have that insurance supplement because you can't get something from nothing!! Just saying..............................

UPDATE: New notice of yet another increase in monthly premium received two days ago now have this Cigna Medigap insurance, that only pays 20% of covered charges BTW is now going up to $232.83 a MONTH come July 2020?? Yet another WTF moment from that "B.O.H.I.C.A." "insurance" company??? And they don't even supply the KY Jelly for it either. I guess someone in upper management with Cigna wants a new Mercedes!! [rolleyes]
